Intense 365 Month 1: No 4 c’s

No Chips

No Candy

No Cookies

No Crackers

For some the above may be regarded as your own personal nightmare, however, in the spirit of fighting my own demons, this is what I have chosen for myself (feel free to pick what is going to give YOU success).

I can honestly say I don’t think I ever had just one serving of chips or crackers, this is primarily because they were always a stand-in for something.

Dinner.

Lunch.

Something interesting to do at a boring party.

While I won’t deny the wonderful world of cheese and crackers (and wine) and the passing interest in whatever Lays is trying to sell us on , none of it matters enough to have work it off later.

Cookies and candy, two things I enjoy when I have it but don’t think about it when I don’t. Whenever it happens to be in close proximity to me though (which lately it has) I don’t fare well, thus off the list.

Because none of these things give me great joy and all contribute to a slight ding in my health, I chose this for the first month. It will be the thing I ultimately give up and likely won’t miss.

As people give me the “poor thing” looks I think about how special the fancy torts, cakes, and treats I will deliberately consume this year that will have that hold meaning past what the people at Oreo are trying to sell me on.

The point here is to make what you consume, hell whatever you DO worth it.

Is that bag of nasty flavored chips the best you can do to excite your taste buds?
